Deans' Honor Scholarships are merit-based scholarships offered to approximately 100 incoming first-time freshmen applicants by the Office of Undergraduate Admission. The scholarships cover full tuition (and mandatory fees for students initially enrolling at Tulane in the fall of 2014 or later) are renewable for four years (five years for students pursuing the five-year accredited professional track in Architecture) provided the student maintains a 3.00 cumulative grade point average and continuous enrollment in a full-time undergraduate division.

Students may not receive a Dean's Honor Scholarship in combination with any other Tulane merit scholarship, ROTC scholarship, Faculty-Staff Tuition Waiver or Tuition Exchange Scholarship. Students may combine the award with a partial athletic scholarship. Students offered a Dean's Honor Scholarship may qualify for need-based aid. In order to be eligible for the Dean’s Honor Scholarship, you must first submit your application for admission and all supporting documents by the Early Action/Single Choice Early Action deadline of November 15. Submit the Dean’s Honor Scholarship application and the Scholarship Recommendation (in its own sealed envelope with your teacher’s signature across the seal) by the deadline early in December. Academic Achievement Awards are merit scholarships awarded by the Office of Undergraduate Admission to incoming freshmen applicants.
The scholarship is renewable for four years (five years for Architecture students) provided the student maintains a 2.700 cumulative grade point average and continuous enrollment in a full-time undergraduate division (enrolled for at least 12 credit hours).
If a Academic Achievement Award recipient receives a Faculty-Staff Tuition Waiver, a Reserve Office Training Corps (ROTC) scholarship, and/or any other Tulane Merit Scholarship, the Academic Achievement Award will be cancelled in lieu of the other funding. The exceptions to this policy are for receipt of a Valedictorian Scholarship, a National Merit Scholarship and/or Tulane Need-Based Scholarship, which may be received in addition to the Academic Achievement Award.
The funding for the Academic Achievement Award, as well as for many of Tulane's scholarships, is made possible through the generosity of alumni and friends, and recipients may be requested to acknowledge the donor with a brief thank-you letter.
