Application Requirements
Only those who are described by all of the conditions below may submit applications.
(1) Possess a nationality other than Japanese
(2) Do not have permanent residence in Japan
(3) Can be described by one or more of I, II, III or IV below:
Ⅰ Have completed 12 years of schooling outside of Japan, or expect to complete courses by March 31 of the year of application, or those designated by the Japanese government (Monbukagakusho)
II Have an international Baccalaureate granted by the International Baccalaureate Bureau according to Swiss civil law and will be 18 years old by March 31 of the year of enrollment
III Have an Abitur that is recognized as a college enrollment qualification for all states in the Federal Republic of Germany and will be 18 years old by March 31 of the year of enrollment
IV Have a Baccalaureate that is recognized as a college enrollment qualification in France and will be 18 years old by March 31 of the year of enrollment
(4) Have completed courses designated by each faculty for international studies examinations for Japan provided by the Japanese Student Services Organization, an independent administrative institution, over the two years before application (includes those provided overseas)
(5) Have applied to TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge English proficiency tests (FCE, CAE or DPE)
Number of Applicants Admitted
The number of new admissions accepted will depend on the course and the major.
Application Procedure
Applications are distributed from early October, and applicants should follow the procedures below.
Physically disabled applicants who require special attention during tests and classes should explain their needs in the box provided at the bottom of the application.
(1) When applying by mail
Applicants must clearly write their name, address and postal code, and provide a return envelope (magazine size) with a 200 yen stamp. If the applicant lives abroad, they must enclose an international return envelope with a stamp that contains the amount needed for 150 grams by airmail. Write ‘Special Application for International Students’ in red letters on the envelope and send it to the address below.
(2) When applying in person
Applicants may apply in person.
(3) Application Period
Applications must be received by Kyushu University during the designated period (the first half of December). Applications received after this period will not be accepted.
