How to apply
We offer an online application system for all of our programmes, with the exception of the PGCE.
You can use the online admissions system to:
submit all your application details securely online and view your completed application form;
upload supporting documents;
request references electronically;
track the progress of your application;
receive a decision on your application online;
update your contact details (it is important you tell us if you change your home address or email);
receive useful information about the University and your application.

When to apply
Many of our programmes have fixed deadlines. Please check the information for the programme you are applying to, as closing dates may differ. We advise you to apply as soon as you can, as popular programmes often fill in advance.
Taught programmes
For taught programmes that start in Autumn 2015, applications are accepted from October 2014 through to Summer 2015. Please check the relevant programme entry for further information, including specific deadlines. Applications for programmes starting in 2016 will be accepted from October 2015.
Research programmes
Research programmes can start throughout the year and applications are usually accepted at any time. However, funded programmes are likely to have deadlines so please check specific programme entries for details. Please note that the online application system will be closed for essential maintenance for two weeks from mid-September until 1st October 2015. You will still be able to add to existing applications during this time but it will not be possible to begin a new application.
Applying before you have final grades/certificate
If you haven't graduated or received your final grades or certificate, you are still welcome to apply. Please provide transcripts to-date as well as your other supporting documents, which can be uploaded as part of the online application process.
Re-applying
If you have applied before and were unsuccessful, you will need to submit a new application to us. If you have successfully requested deferred entry you do not need to complete a new application.
Required documents
Whichever programme you are applying for, there are standard documents that you will need to upload:
Two references - for further information see the 'References' section;
University degree transcripts to date (transcripts are documents showing your grades for individual units/essays/exams throughout your degree);
University degree certificate;
English language certificate (if your first language is not English). See information on English Language Requirements for further information
Some programmes require additional documents; research applications may need a research proposal. You should check the Admissions Statement for your programme to make sure.
