Students from outside the UK who would like to spend part of their degree at Nottingham may be able to do so through the International Exchange Programme.
The International Exchange Programme is designed for undergraduate students from our partner universities worldwide, including members of the Universitas 21 network, who wish to spend a period of time studying in the UK, earning credits to transfer back to their home university.
Modules are available across most disciplines and are part of the regular undergraduate curriculum, enabling international exchange students to study alongside UK-based home students.
Tuition fees
International Exchange students are exempt from paying any tuition fees to The University of Nottingham, provided that they have been formally nominated to study at The University of Nottingham by their home university.
How to apply
You must be nominated by email by your home university in order to take part in the International Exchange programme. Please check with your home university to confirm whether a current International Exchange agreement is in place between your home university and The University of Nottingham. Your home university is then responsible for sending the supporting documents to complete your application.

Academic Year
The academic year at Nottingham is divided into two semesters. Modules are offered during each semester and examination periods take place at the end of each semester. All students must be in Nottingham for the regular examination periods.
If students request to take re-sit examinations then these may be arranged to be taken overseas at the student’s home institution during the re-sit period in August/September each year. Fees are applied for re-sit examinations and overseas re-sit examination arrangements. Please note re-sit examinations are not available in a small number of Schools/Departments.
