Introduction
The Master of Engineering in Oil and Gas provides a comprehensive skill set for engineering graduates seeking employment in the global oil and gas industry.
Designed in collaboration with UWA’s industry partners to match current energy trends, the course is in sync with the rapidly expanding natural gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industries in Western Australia and is unique in its focus on downstream oil and gas processing.
Course description, features and facilities
Students will develop professional levels of skill in a range of key areas including petroleum engineering, gas economics, investment strategies and liabilities, work-flow concepts, and current production and processing technologies.
A particular focus is placed on natural gas, both its extraction and subsequent conversion to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
Business-orientated units will cover the principles of project planning and project management within the managerial context of the oil and gas industry.
Students will also produce a variety of written technical reports and business proposals, and will take part in group projects, including a unique field hydrocarbon development design project.

Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—
(a) an engineering degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;
and
(b) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent.

Application Deadlines
While there are no strict application deadlines for the submission of international postgraduate coursework applications, prospective students are strongly encouraged to apply with sufficient time to allow for the processing of their application and to secure a student visa.
Postgraduate coursework applications generally take four weeks from receipt of an application to offer.
Fees
Annual fee: $35000.
For courses that are less than one year in duration, the annual fee listed is the total for the course. Unless otherwise indicated, for courses that are 18 months in duration, the annual fee is two-thirds of the total cost of the course.
