2016北卡罗来纳大学教堂山分校本科学费

For the 2015-2016 academic year, the total cost of full-time attendance for undergraduates is estimated to be $24,320 for North Carolina residents and $50,360 for out-of-state residents. Those figures include the standards of tuition, fees, room, board, books and supplies, travel, and health insurance, and the figures also allow for a personal spending allowance to cover things such as toiletries and those late-night runs for pizza and froyo. Some students will spend more, while others may spend less than the estimates – a lot of it depends on your tastes and circumstances. But these are the estimates we use when we determine eligibility for need-based financial aid. Please note also that you may pay a different amount if you’re in a Health Affairs program, based on your specific course of study, and that all costs are subject to change.

In your planning, you may also be interested in UNC’s Net Price Calculator. It’s designed to give you an estimate of your eligibility for financial aid at Carolina, which will help you gauge your out-of-pocket expenses.

Over the past four years, annual increases in Carolina’s tuition and fees have averaged $455 (or a little more than 6%) for North Carolina students and $2,263 (or a little less than 8%) for out-of-state students. These increases are comparable to those at similar universities, and Carolina remains one of the best values in public higher education.

It’s also worth noting that increases in tuition are for good reasons – they help fund important University priorities that strengthen the education we offer and make your Carolina degree more valuable. For example, tuition increases in recent years have helped improve academic advising, increase faculty salaries and provide more need-based financial aid. And anytime tuition increases, we also increase our funding for need-based aid, so qualifying students are fully protected from the impact of the increase.

Carolina’s commitment to access and affordability is ferocious. Our tuition and fees are amongst the lowest in the nation. We are committed to meeting the demonstrated need of all admitted students who apply for aid on time. About 47% of students receive financial aid, and the average aid package is approximately $18,000. Through theCarolina Covenant, we promise a debt-free education to any eligible student whose family income falls at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines (about $47,700 for a family of four). In addition to the Covenant, we have a variety of other financial aid and scholarship opportunities for qualified students, no matter what their background may be. Our students are strong contenders for a variety of competitive scholarships offered through Carolina and beyond. Here is a list of additional opportunities, some of which students may apply to as early as their first year.
