Admission to NC State is highly competitive and space is limited. Because all application materials must be included in order for applications to be processed, we suggest applying as early as possible. That way, we will have time to notify you if something is missing from your application.
You will be notified of your admission decision on your wolfPAW application status screen and will receive an acceptance packet by mail. If admitted, you must confirm your enrollment by May 1.
You may not select the following programs for spring semester: The College of Engineering, studio-based majors in the College of Design, Fashion and Textile Design, Exploratory Studies and Elementary Education.
Decisions for international freshman and transfer applicants are posted as applications are completed and reviewed. Separate deadlines pertain to studio-based majors and Agricultural Institute programs. See the bottom of this page or follow the links provided to learn about decision time lines for these programs.

Studio-based Majors
Applicants must submit an online portfolio and a major-specific essay. These programs are subject to a different admissions review process and only admit students for the fall semester.
College of Design
Studio-based majors in the College of Design include Architecture, Art+Design, Industrial Design and Graphic Design.
October 15: Application deadline. Applications completed after the deadline will not be reviewed by the College of Design. Applicants will receive a decision by mid-March.
Portfolio and essay submission uploaded to wolfPAW due November 1.
Please note: Design Studies is offered by the College of Design as a non-studio major. It does not require a portfolio or essay, and it follows the regular application deadlines for spring and fall admission. Design Studies can be selected as a second choice.
Fashion & Textile Design
The College of Textiles offers studio-based programs for students interested in Fashion & Textile Design.
October 15: Application deadline. Applications completed after the deadline will not be reviewed by the College of Textiles. Applicants will receive a decision by mid-March.
