Connect with NC State through wolfPAW, NC State’s Personal Admissions Website which allows you to create an online profile, register for campus events and tours, and check your application status. Apply online via the Common Application which conveniently allows you to apply to multiple schools with one application. You will then complete our institution’s questions in the Member Questions section.
A complete application includes:
application submitted through the Common Application
a non-refundable $100 application fee
proof of English proficiency
official secondary school transcripts and external examination results (Records not issued in English must be accompanied by an English translation that is certified by an appropriate school official, official translator, or U.S. embassy or consulate official.)
Certificate of Financial Responsibility (only required for students needing F-1 and J-1 visas)
online portfolio and essay (required for studio-based major programs)
Letters of recommendation are not required and not recommended.
Once you submit your application via the Common Application, keep up with your application status through your wolfPAW account. Also remember to frequently check your email for updates throughout the application process.
Your decision is made on a rolling basis and will be displayed on your wolfPAW account after your complete application has been received and reviewed. See Dates and Deadlines for international application deadline dates.
Official Documents
Documents are considered official if they meet one of the following criteria:
The issuing institution sends them directly to NC State.
They are certified as true copies by an official of the educational institution, and embassy official, or an appropriate government official.
