Educational background required
To be eligible to apply you need one of the following educations:
A) Finnish Matriculation examination or/and Finnish upper secondary education, EB, IB or Reifeprüfung examination (click for details on the left).
B) Finnish upper secondary vocational education (click for details on the left).
C) A non-Finnish degree or qualification which gives eligibility for higher education in the degree awarding country (click for details on the left).
Language skills required
All applicants are also required to prove their skills in English.
Applicant who is not EU/EEA-citizen:
If you are not an EU/EEA-citizen and you are applying with a non-Finnish certificate you must provide proof of your English language skills to Arcada by 10 February 2016 3 p.m. Finnish time.
The minimum English language skills requirements
IELTS academic level score 6.0,
- valid for two years, valid if test date is 8 January 2014 onwards.
- a paper copy of the valid certificate sent by post or delivered to Arcada is sufficient
TOEFL 79 for the internet -based test,
- Must arrive directly from the Educational Testing Service
- Arcada's TOEFL code is 5724
- valid for two years, valid if test date is 8 January 2014 onwards
Cambridge ESOL's
-Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) level C or Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) CEFR level C1
- Include your Candidate ID and Candicate Secret number when sending your results to Arcada
Pearson test of English Academic 51
- Results are accepted only when sent through the online PTE account
- valid for two years, valid if test date is 8 January 2014 onwards
National Certificate of Language Proficiency
- skills level 4 in English in all parts (English communicative oral skills, reading comprehension and writing)
- no set date of validity
- requires skills in Finnish/Swedish
NOTE! Applicants to the degree programme in Nursing must also have skills in Swedish or Finnish.
