Registration fees
All students of European nationality or non-European, must pay annual registration fees that vary according to theirnationality.
ARES (Academy of Research and Higher Education) sets every year the fees for these students :
European students : 835 €
Non-european students : 835 € or 2758 € or 4175 €
Indebted students of 835 €
Indebted students of 2758 €
Indebted students of 4175 €
PhD students (all nationalities): 835 € the first year of registration and 32 € the following year
If you are a non-european student and if you find yourself in a situation of assimilation, please notify the Admission Office when you submit your file.
Charges payable to the Immigration Office for the processing of applications for residence permit (students from outside the European Union)
Since March 2, 2015, a fee to cover administrative costs of the treatment of certain long stay visas (D) is requested. For processing applications for residence permit to study in Belgium, the tax amounts to € 160. This fee is not refunded in case of visa refusal.

A significant part of this amount must be available to you as soon as you arrive in Liège. There are a series of important expenses that have to be taken care of in the first month of your stay in Belgium (registration, housing payment, buying books and clothes, etc).
The amount needed will be greater if family members are accompanying the student to Belgium.
