Living expenses in Cassino are not very high. In fact, they are much lower in comparison with much bigger cities, like Rome or Venice. Please refer to the table below to have a general idea of the cost of living in the town of Cassino.

Accommodation
The town of Cassino is a university town. Therefore, it might be difficult to find an accommodation once the academic year has started. The accommodation service for international students is provided by LAZIODISU, the student service office of the University of Cassino whose main building is located on Via Garigliano in Cassino. Please contact the Agenzia degli Affitti office at your earliest convenience.
Meals
International students are eligible for a meal plan. Prices are at the lowest rates: €2.03 per meal. The cafeteria is located on Via Garigliano, at the LAZIODISU building and at the Folcara Campus. Cafeterias are open every day from noon to 2pm for lunch and from 7pm to 9pm for dinner. Breakfast is not served. Please notice that the cafeteria at the Folcara campus is not open on weekends.
Health insurance
Upon your arrival you are expected to go to the Local Health Authority Office (ASL) in Cassino where you will be assigned with a local medical doctor. You will need your European Health Card (issued by your regional office in your home country) to apply for it. The ASL office is located on Via De Bosis, Ufficio Assistenza all’estero in Cassino. Office hours are as follows: Monday through Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm. If you are not a citizen of the European Union you will have to buy your own insurance. The International Office will be happy to assist you in this matter.
