Cost of Living
The standard of living in Parma corresponds to that of most cities in Northern Italy. The prices listed below, although indicative, provide a preliminary indication.
· Average rent for studio flats: € 300 - 550
· Average rent for two-roomed flats: € 600 - 800
· Average rent for a single room in private flats: € 200 - 350
· Average rent for a double room in private flats: € 150 - 250
· Single room in a Youth Hostel: from € 20,00 to € 40,00
· Metropolitan bus ticket: € 1,20 (validity: one hour)
· Weekly adult bus-pass (contains 8 one-hour tickets): € 8,00
· Monthly adult bus-pass: € 28,50
· Three-month bus-pass for students: € 63,00
· One-week supermarket shopping: approx. € 50,00
· Pizza + beverage + espresso / dessert: approx. € 15
· Meal in a trattoria (typical Italian restaurant): from € 25 - 30
· Breakfast in a café (cappuccino and croissant): approx. € 2,20
· Meal at the University cafeteria: from € 4,00 to € 8,00 (full lunch)
· Lunch in a café (sandwich and beverage): approx. € 6,00
· Disco-pub: approx. € 10,00
· Cinema : € 7,50 (discounts in midweek days) - With Student Card € 4,00 from Monday to Friday (not on holidays).
Tuition fees 2015-2016
Tuition fees include:
· regional tax: € 140.00
· virtual stamp duty: € 32.00
· tuition fee: € 199.58
Payment is made in two instalments:
1st Instalment: to be paid when enrolling, by the deadline. The amount has already been calculated for each degree course.
2nd Instalment: to be paid by the deadline. The amount varies depending on the degree course chosen and the student’s economic status.
For the A.Y. 2015-2016, the deadline for payment of 2nd Instalment is 31 May 2016.
Delayed payments - upon authorization of the Rector - after the established deadlines will be charged a further 50€ fee.
