Fixed Fee Structure
Our new fixed fee structure means that new international undergraduate (excluding Medicine) and postgraduate research students commencing study from 2016/17 are charged the same tuition fee each year, for the duration of their programme of study.
Many other universities increase their fees between 5% and 9% every year. The University of Aberdeen is committed to ensuring that international students can project their costs in advance of arriving in Aberdeen. Our fixed fee structure will allow you to plan ahead and save money!
Here’s an example of how these changes could look for you:
Undergraduate Arts Degree
An international student starting our undergraduate Master of Arts in Sociology in September 2016 would pay their tuition fees as follows:
Year 1 - £13,800
Year 2 - £13,800 (no increase in fees)
Year 3 - £13,800 (no increase in fees)
Year 4 - No fees paid due to International Undergraduate Scholarship
Total cost of tuition for a four year degree is £41,400
Undergraduate Engineering Degree
An international student starting our Bachelor of Engineering in September 2016 would pay their tuition fees as follows:
Year 1 - £17,200
Year 2 - £17,200 (no increase in fees)
Year 3 - £17,200 (no increase in fees)
Year 4 - No fees paid due to International Undergraduate Scholarship.
Total cost of study for a four year degree is £51,600
Postgraduate Research Degree
An international student starting an arts-based Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in International Relations in September 2015 would pay their tuition fees as follows:
Year 1 - £13,800
Year 2 - £13,800 (no increase in fees)
Year 3 - £13,800 (no increase in fees)
Total cost of tuition for a three year research degree is £41,400
