DIRECT COSTS
The directly-billed charges include tuition, fees, housing and food. You will be billed for these charges approximately six weeks before each term starts.

ESTIMATED INDIRECT COSTS
Plan to arrive on campus with sufficient funds for your out-of-pocket expenses. You will need an average of $1,093 per term to pay for your own books, supplies, laundry, toiletries etc. These indirect costs will not appear on your college bill.

* First-Year Students have additional room charges and fees of $405. Total first year cost of attendance is $69,879.
ADDITIONAL EXPENSES:
-HEALTH INSURANCE
All students must purchase the Group Health Insurance Plan unless they can certify to Health Services that they are covered by a comparable medical plan. The cost of the plan in 2015-2016 is $2,645.
-COMPUTER
Entering students are required to have a computer meeting Dartmouth requirements. Students may provide their own computer or purchase one through the College. The cost for the basic computer package in 2015-2016 is $1,114.
-TRAVEL
An allowance for transportation is considered an educational expense. These expenses will not appear on your student bill, but should be factored into a budget for your planning purposes. Each student is responsible for all aspects of their own travel, and the associated costs are typically an out of pocket expense to be covered by the student and/or parent contribution.
