2016-2017纽约大学本科学费

What’s included in the “cost of attendance”?

The preliminary* budget shown approximates your cost of education for the academic year and includes an amount for tuition and fees; an allowance for room and board (which varies according to where you live); a standard amount for books, supplies, and personal expenses; and a transportation allowance. Typical budgets are presented here to help you understand how your cost of education was determined.

Direct Expenses are institutional charges billed to you by New York University via the Office of the Bursar.

Indirect Expenses are estimates of costs that may be associated with your attendance, but are not typically University charges.

  1) NYU encourages each student to assess their specific expenses and resources, and to finance/borrow only as much as needed.

  2) Actual room and board charges depend on several factors, including whether a student lives on or off campus. There is a range of housing and meal plans available on campus at NYU. The standard figure for financial aid purposes represents room and board for an on-campus student living in a double occupancy room and selecting a typical 300 meal per semester "flex" dining plan (which averages 19 meals per week). NYU housing provides local telephone service, wi-fi internet access, and cable television to the residence hall room at no additional charge. The on-campus standard rate is also used to represent the room and board costs for an off-campus student since costs on average are similar to on-campus options. Individual costs for off-campus living vary as the New York City area has many different housing options and associated costs, depending upon location, number of roommates, amenities, etc. Also, note that University meal plans are available for students who live off-campus.

  3) Transportation is an indirect expense that varies greatly by individual. The amount listed represents an MTA Metrocard expense and an average amount for travel home during the academic year.

  4) Students who borrow federal loans will have the mandatory federal loan fees included in their Cost of Attendance budget.
