If you or your agent are submitting documents by email or fax, then they are not considered official. Your application for admission will be considered for admission when we receive copies of these documents but official documents must to be received in order for you to register for classes.
TRANSCRIPTS: TRANSLATION AND EVALUATION
All final, official transcripts must be received prior to the start of your first semester. Final, official documents must come directly from the university, ETS (for GRE or TOEFL scores), Pearson Vue (for GMAT), or the British Council (IELTS).
If your transcripts are in a language other than English, you must submit an official English translation through one of the following:

If you have attended college overseas, you need to have your educational credentials evaluated by aNational Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) member organization. See approved agencies listed above.
Possible transfer credit will be determined upon admission to NYIT and receipt of the course-by-course evaluation.
DEMONSTRATE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
All undergraduate and graduate applicants are required to submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), the Pearson PTE Academic Exam, or an examination deemed to be equivalent by the Office of Admissions. If you graduated from a U.S. high school or with a four-year bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited United States institution, then you do not need to take the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE exam.

English Requirements for Admission
You must receive a minimum score of 6.0 (IELTS), 79 (TOEFL IBT), or 53 (Pearson PTE) for full admission.
If you receive a score below 6.0 (5.0-5.5) on the IELTS, 79 on the TOEFL IBT (61-78), or 52 on the Pearson PTE (40-52), you may be required to study English as a second language before you can be fully matriculated.
M.B.A. applicants must meet English proficiency requirements by providing a minimum score of 6.0 (IELTS), 79 (TOEFL IBT), or 53 Pearson PTE). Successful completion of NYIT’s English Language Institute satisfies the English proficiency requirement to the M.B.A. program.
Conditional Admission
If you receive a score below 5.0 (IELTS), 61 (TOEFL IBT), or 40 (Pearson PTE), you may be offered conditional admission to your academic program. If you are conditionally admitted, you will attend NYIT's English Language Institute (ELI) for additional instruction in English. Upon completion of the ELI program, you will be offered full admission to your academic program. You may also resubmit an IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE score to be reconsidered for full admission.

Arts & Entertainment Leadership, Advanced Certificate Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in the arts and/or in-depth knowledge of at least one performing art discipline.
Demonstrate some experience in management and a strong interest in becoming arts and entertainment leaders in either commercial or non-profit performing arts organizations.
If you have not completed undergraduate business coursework, you may be required to enroll in additional courses during or prior to Term I (first summer) in order to satisfy prerequisite knowledge for core curriculum. If you are accepted with conditions, you will be required to achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA in your first 12 credits to continue in the program and must meet with an advisor to review progress until fully admitted.

Admission Requirements: Architecture, Urban & Regional Design, M.S.
Admission Requirements
Professional architecture or landscape architecture degree from an accredited college or university approved by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB), or the equivalent if applying with a foreign degree from another country.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
No standardized tests (including GRE) are required, except TOEFL/IELTS for international students
Adolescence Education, M.S. degree
Admission Requirements
B.S. degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university.
New York State provisional or initial certification.
Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
If you have a GPA between 2.85 and 2.99, you may be accepted and will have to achieve a 3.0 GPA in your first 12 graduate credits to continue in the M.S. program.
If you have a GPA below 2.85, you must take the GRE and earn a minimum combined score of 300 on the verbal and quantitative reasoning tests. You will need to achieve a score of 4.0 out of 6.0 on the analytical writing section. If you meet the GRE requirement, you may be accepted and will be required to achieve a 3.0 GPA in your first 12 credits to continue in the program.
Management, M.B.A.
Admission Requirements
B.S. degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university.
If you already hold a graduate degree from a regionally accredited university, you may be admitted into the M.B.A. program upon receipt of the admissions documents.
Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
The GMAT is not a requirement for admission, but may be submitted toward fulfillment of the M.B.A. admissions criteria if your undergraduate GPA is below the requirement listed above. You will be considered for admission if you receive a satisfactory composite GMAT score, which will be determined by the graduate faculty and will consist of a numerical calculation of your undergraduate GPA and your GMAT score.
