UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
for students applying directly from High School
You can apply to many Dalhousie programs directly from high school. The general admission requirements for degree programs are:
Completion of secondary school (i.e. Grade 12) with a minimum overall average of 70% in five academic Grade 12 courses
A final grade of at least 70% in Grade 12 English and any other required subject (see below)
Subjects required for admission to various programs are listed below, as well as the minimum required Grade 12 averages. Admission to many programs at Dalhousie is competitive; meeting the minimum entrance average does not guarantee admission. Normally, 70% or higher is necessary in all required subjects for early admission.
Undergraduate studies for international students
International students bring a rich variety of education and experience to Dalhousie University. For admission, you need to fulfill the specific class and academic average requirements for your chosen program.
China, People's Republic of:Senior Middle School Graduation Certificate and Nation Matriculation Examination or Graduation Examination.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Ensure you have the language skills to succeed
If your first language is not English, you may be required to provide proof of English language proficiency.
You are not required to give proof of English language proficiency if:
you studied at an English language institution for at least 3 years at the secondary level; or
you studied at an English language institution for at least one year at the post-secondary level.
When proof of English language proficiency is necessary, you must achieve the following minimum score or above on a recognized English language proficiency test:
