一、The Students' Association
Every student at the University is a member of the Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA), an organisation built around supporting students.
EUSA helps you to get the best out of your time at Edinburgh by providing specialist student services, representative councils and union buildings.

Support services
Venues and events
EUSA runs four student union buildings, which contain several bars, retail and catering outlets.
Teviot Row House, opened in 1889, is the oldest purpose–built students’ union in the world and sits in the University’s Central Area next to Potterrow, EUSA’s unique domed venue.
Recent multimillion-pound redevelopments of EUSA’s facilities include study, social, meeting and events spaces alongside retail, bar and catering outlets at King’s Buildings House.
In addition, a world-class centre for student activities including dance studios, a multi-purpose performance space and TV and radio production studios will fully reopen, at the iconic Pleasance venue, in September 2017.
EUSA is also responsible for events programming throughout the year, including hosting Freshers' Week.
Societies and community
EUSA supports more than 260 student societies and clubs, from the Aberdeen FC Supporters Club to the Zoological Society.
It also promotes opportunities with local charities through its volunteering center.
Student support
EUSA provides free and confidential guidance to students on everything ranging from academic issues to financial assistance through the Advice Place. It also creates opportunities for students to connect and help each other through programmes such as Peer Support and International Buddies.

University life can bring personal and academic challenges, so we intend to make sure you are fully supported throughout your time here.
If you experience any difficulties in adjusting or have any concerns, you will find plenty of advice available to help you find a solution.
The Advice Place
The Advice Place is the free advice and information centre for all students at the University. The service is run by EUSA and offers independent and confidential advice.
Get in touch if you have questions about University life, from finance and funding, accommodation and tenancy to health and wellbeing. We also have specialist academic advisers, who can offer guidance on issues related to your studies.

Our staff will provide you with help and guidance on how to study most effectively.
We also run a system of peer support in the form of student-staffed helpdesks, information points, academic families, buddying and mentoring.
The Student Counselling Service
Our free, confidential service provides professional short-term help for any personal concerns, whether or not they are related to study.
Our counsellors are experienced and professionally trained.
We offer counselling to help students work through their difficulty, understand themselves better and find ways of managing their situation.
We also offer a range of self-help workshops and literature.

Residential support
For those of you staying in University accommodation, our Residence Life team will help you in the transition from home to university, and throughout your time with us.
Professionally trained staff are supported by a network of older students who are on hand to deal with any issues you may have.

The Health Centre
The University Health Centre is an independent NHS partnership.
To use this service you must register with the practice and live within the practice area.
The centre offers:

The Chaplaincy Centre
Our Chaplaincy Centre provides a meeting place for groups and individuals of any religious allegiance. The Chaplain, and our team of multi-faith honorary chaplains, offer support and guidance to all students.
The University’s popular outdoor Labyrinth is in George Square Gardens and gives students and visitors some time to reflect, focus and relax during a busy day.

We offer excellent childcare services, making it easier to juggle parenthood and study
Arcadia Nursery
Our nursery offers unrivalled facilities and care for young children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
Based at King's Buildings, Arcadia brings together the childcare experience of the long-established teams at the Uni-Tots Nursery and the Day Nursery.

Support and advice
The Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA) provides support and advice for students who are parents.

四、Student Disability Service
We aim to provide an inclusive environment for all students at the University.
Our Student Disability Service recommends a variety of teaching and assessment methods to course organisers and continues to improve access to buildings and new technology.
We are keen to ensure that any adjustments or support arrangements you need are put in place in time for your arrival.
We urge all prospective students with disabilities to make early contact with us, so we can discuss and meet your requirements.
Support and advice
Disability and SpLD (Specific Learning Difficulty, which includes dyslexia, autism etc) advisors offer support throughout your time at Edinburgh. They can:
provide detailed information about the facilities available at the University
help you apply for Disabled Students' Allowance to purchase IT equipment or pay for personal assistance (for example note takers, proofreaders, dyslexia tutors)
match you with student support assistants
make recommendations for specific examination arrangements
There is also a limited Disabled Students' Support Fund for those who do not qualify for Disabled Students' Allowance.

Our award-winning Careers Service can help with your career choices, and offer practical advice about how to progress your career goals.
Our Careers Service offers many opportunities for you to develop a broad range of skills, grow in confidence and learn more about yourself.
The service offers advice, guidance and careers information for all students and our recent graduates.
Careers Service staff can also help you to work while you study or advise on volunteering opportunities.
