Study Abroad Program Base
There are five research centers belonging to renowned overseas partner universities on the Imadegawa Campus, each of which has been set up as a research base for Japanese studies and Japanese language programs. International students from those universities are studying in individual programs as students of the Center for Japanese Language and Culture and all enjoy full access to the facilities of Doshisha University.

AKP Doshisha University International Students’ Center (AKP)
The AKP Center at Doshisha University accepts about 30 students every year from 13 AKP consortium universities that are highly regarded for their liberal arts programs. The AKP has been promoting study programs in Kyoto for international students since 1972.
The AKP consortium universities are:
Amherst College, Bates College, Bucknell University, Carleton College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Middlebury College, Mount Holyoke College, Oberlin College, Pomona College, Smith College, Wellesley College, Wesleyan University, Whitman College and Williams College.

Tubingen University Center for Japanese Language (TUB)
Tubingen University Center for Japanese Language at Doshisha University is a base for Japanese studies of Tubingen University in Germany. It is one of the country’s most prestigious universities and was attended by the likes of the philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and the mathematician and astronomer Johannes Kepler. The center accepts about 25 students from the university each spring and autumn.

Stanford Japan Center (SJC)
The SJC provides a program for undergraduate students of Stanford University wishing to study in Japan. The center accepts about 35 students from Stanford University every year.

Kyoto Consortium for Japanese Studies (KCJS)
Established in 1989, the Kyoto Consortium for Japanese Studies (KCJS) is a consortium of 13 American universities that provides a one-year study abroad program for Japanese language and cultural studies.
The participating universities are:
Boston University, Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, University of Chicago, Emory University, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Stanford University, Washington University in St. Louis, Yale University and the University of Virginia.
International students who participate in the program have more than two years’ experience of learning Japanese prior to coming to Japan, demonstrating a strong commitment and deep interest in the Japanese language and culture.
京都日语学习联盟
京都日语学习联盟建于1989年,是美国13所大学的联盟,提供一年的海外学习项目,学习日语语言和文化研究。
参与的大学有:波士顿大学、布朗大学、哥伦比亚大学、康乃尔大学、芝加哥大学、埃默里大学、哈佛大学、宾夕法尼亚大学、普林斯顿大学、斯坦福大学、圣路易斯华盛顿大学、耶鲁大学和弗吉尼亚大学。

Subjects studying with International Students
The Center for Global Education & the Center for Japanese Language and Culture offer subjects about Japanese traditional cultures and arts, as well as cross-cultural understanding, which Japanese and international students can take and study together. For details and registration of each subject, please refer to the program guide of each faculty’s general and liberal education subjects. Please note, some subjects limit the number of students able to enroll, or require advance registration.
