2.Phyllis J. Washington College of Education and Human Sciences
The Phyllis J. Washington College of Education and Human Sciences is comprised of five academic departments, as well as specialty units such as the Montana Digital Academy, the Institute of Educational Research and Service, and the Learning and Belonging (LAB) Preschool.
The academic departments are:
Communicative Sciences and Disorders - prepares students to work as professionals in the areas of Speech and Language Pathology.
Counselor Education - prepares students to function as competent, ethical professional counselors who can work sensitively with culturally diverse consumers in a wide range of school and mental health settings.
Teaching and Learning - home to the teacher preparation programs as well as masters and doctoral programs in curriculum studies, elementary education, library media services, literacy studies, instructional technology, special education and secondary education.
Educational Leadership - offers masters, education specialist, and doctoral degrees and endorsements in educational administration and supervision.
Health and Human Performance - host of bachelors and masters programs in health enhancement (physical education and health), athletic training, exercise science, health promotion, and exercise and performance psychology.

MISSION: Through innovative teaching, research, and service, the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation empowers society and its future leaders to better understand and more effectively conserve, restore, and sustain complex social-ecological systems in the Rocky Mountains and beyond.
RANKINGS:
A study led by recent graduate Megan Kelville looked at scholarly productivity in the field of ecology. After adjusting for relative institution size, the University of Montana ranks fifth out of the 316 institutions examined for scholarly productivity in influential ecology journals. By these criteria, UM ecology faculty and their graduate students are leaders in ecological research across North America and rank among the most prestigious institutions in this field.
Our Wildlife Biology program is ranked #1 by Academic Analytics among programs in the U.S. and Canada. The ranking is based on faculty productivity, comparing UM wildlife biology faculty to their peers on publications, citations, research grants, and notable awards.
The W.A. Franke College of Forestry & Conservation acknowledges that we are in the aboriginal territories of the Salish land and Kalispel people. We honor and appreciate that.

W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation faculty members represent the full range of natural resource disciplines, from resource management and social sciences to physical and biological sciences. Faculty research is published in prominent peer-reviewed journals and address the most pressing natural resource issues of today. Additionally, faculty actively advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, support our ten student clubs, participate in other service to the state of Montana and local organizations, and serve as leaders in their professional organizations.
Our student body includes about 725 undergraduate majors and 100 graduate students from all over the United States, Canada, and many other countries.

Our college was founded in 1913, one of the first programs accredited by the Society of American Foresters. The college is respected nationally for the quality of its academic and research programs. We have educated some of the nation's finest natural resource managers.
At the undergraduate level we offer five bachelor of science degrees and five minors. Graduate students can earn an M.S. or PhD.
Research and outreach activities are administered through the Montana Forest and Conservation Experiment Station, a statewide agency of the Montana University System. The MFCES was founded in 1937 by the Montana Legislature and has since provided base funding for the college's active research program.
Our academic and research programs incorporate hands-on experiences to complement classroom and lab work. Students have access to the 28,000-acre Lubrecht Experimental Forest, the 3,500-acre Bandy Ranch, the Flathead Lake Biological Station on the shores of 184-square mile Flathead Lake, and the Boone and Crocket Club's Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch of 6,000 acres along the east face of the Rockies. Classes also make use of extensive Bureau of Land Management, Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, and USDA Forest Service lands in Montana.

4.College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences
The College has a dedicated and talented faculty with collective expertise in instruction, research and service, all committed to providing a superior academic experience in the classroom, the research laboratory, and in the field. Working in state-of-the-art laboratory environments, many members of the faculty have not only a national but also an international reputation. The Skaggs School of Pharmacy consistently ranks among the top pharmacy schools with extramural funding, and funded researchers can be found in every School of the College. The College is a dynamic place to do research at the basic, clinical and translational levels. Our Centers provide extraordinary research and graduate opportunities in environmental health, neuroscience and the study and treatment of neural injury, among others.
Our College faculty and students occupy the Skaggs Building and Jeannette Rankin Hall on the beautiful campus of the University of Montana. The Family Medicine Residency Program has residents training at Community Medical Center, St. Patrick Hospital, and Partnership Health Center, all in Missoula, and in Kalispell at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center and Flathead Community Health Center. With respect to off-campus training sites, our students are placed in many diverse learning environments in numerous rural training sites across the entire state of Montana, the Pacific Northwest, and the nation.

5.Missoula College
Missoula College, the two-year unit of the University of Montana, provides outstanding occupational and technical education covering 40 programs. Areas of study include business and health care professions, applied computing and electronics, and energy and industrial technologies. An Associate of Arts general education program is also available to students desiring a transfer degree for a baccalaureate degree program. Most programs begin in the fall with some programs offering spring entry.
Students completing two and three-semester programs in the career and technical programs earn a Certificate of Applied Science degree, while students completing four-semester programs earn an Associate of Applied Science degree.. Students in the Registered Nursing program earn an Associate of Science degree; General Studies students earn an Associate of Arts degree. Workforce development programs are also offered through the College’s Outreach Department.
