But it also found that not all exercise is created equal and that the combination of aerobic exercise and weight training is significantly better for controlling blood sugar than either alone.

  The elegantly designed study, led by researchers at the University of Calgary and the University of Ottawa, involved 251 patients aged 39 to 70, with type 2 diabetes. The patients, none of whom were regular exercisers, were randomized to one of four groups: aerobic exercise, resistance training, a combination of both, or none. For 22 weeks, the aerobic group worked out for 45 minutes three times a week on the treadmill or stationary bicycle; the resistance-training group spent an equal amount of time on weight machines.   阅读部分:出土了一种用陶土做的disk,一面有花纹,一面没花纹。没花纹那面周围有一圈凸起刚好形成了一个浅浅的碗。disk下面还有短短的手柄。这种disk有三种可能的用法。

  1、用来做饭,disk无花纹面的碗刚好可以盛放食物,而手柄方便烹饪的时候移动disk。

  2、用来当鼓,往disk上蒙上兽皮,就可以形成一个腔体。人们可以一手持手柄,一手击鼓。

  3、用作镜子。往无花纹面里到些液体,就可以当镜子用了。而且,这种用法很像古希腊的手持镜子。

  听力部分:上用法都不可信

  • 不可能用于烹饪的。想一想我们家里用的pans and pots,使用之后会blackend or discolored,因为长时间接触高温,炊具势必会发黑。但是出土的200件disk中没有一个出现了这种情况。

  • 做鼓使用也不可能发出好听的声音。这中disk使用陶土制作,即使蒙上兽皮敲击的声音也远不如用兽皮和木头制作的鼓好听。此外,陶土制作的鼓非常沉,使用不便。

  有同学问,剑桥系列我都做了好几遍了,答案都背出来了,还有什么用。环球雅思培训机构的沈初老师认为,这样的情况只能说你没有学会物尽其用。应对雅思听力考试,剑桥系列做3遍就够!只不过每一遍的做法不一样。

  第一遍做时:不需要更多的思考,掐着时间做下来即可。如果同学对自己考试能得多少分很好奇,一个最简单的方法就是把剑桥1-6的每个TEST的得分相加求个平均数,排除考试时紧张的因素,正常发挥,就应该是这个得分,复习得好,那么考出来的分数应该是肯定高于这个数字的。

  既然叫总听,就是不要陷入文章内容(content)的细节(detail)。总听只做两件事:一是明确主题,大概知道这个段落讲了什么事(what is the paragraph about)。二是寻找逻辑(to search logic)。英文文章的逻辑包括什么呢?只要能简单判断出这篇文章是按时间顺序(time order)写的还是空间顺序(space order);是现象解释还是两种观点的比较等。所以在总听第一遍的时候,关注那些起承转合的词(word),可以帮我们快速把握(to master)文章的逻辑(logic)关系。
