  暑期到了,许多打算出国留学的考生想利用这段时间备考托福。我发现,考生一旦听不懂文本,往往会看着文本听,很多人也建议考生这么做。毫无疑问,这样做的结果是该文本能听懂了。但是这个听懂的前提是先看懂。音频声音形象的建立只是印证了自己的阅读。

  我提醒大家,切不可把听力题当成阅读做。我是做口译出身,但不要求也不允许考生在课上做翻译。托福听力不需要中英文之间的转换能力。有的老师会建议考生在听力训练中做翻译。但其实,听懂的步骤是在听到声音后理解意思,根本不需要翻译。

  口译训练不适用于托福听力的提高。听力能力由三方面能力构成,即语音识别、语义识别和结构层次,分别对应单词、句子和篇章层面。听写本身只解决语音识别,并不能有助于理解句子意思或是结构层次。考生进行听写训练时,不要写下来,因为会浪费时间。即使大家发现不写下来就听不懂,也不要做成阅读,而要强迫自己听。听写要做,但只是一个最基础的工作。如果只做听写,听力永远无法提高,考生不要忘了还有语义识别和结构层次。

  不少考生会问,一个文本需要听几遍才能听懂。事实是,如果没有提高,听几遍都一样。听的过程中,考生要去抓层次结构和出题点,关键不在遍数,方法对了,也许听2遍就能有很好的效果。

  听力不仅需要大量时间和次数去听,还要有方法。美国教育考试服务中心从不要求考生听懂每一个单词,我们也不要求。单词是一个基础量,考生在听不懂的情况下如何理解一个文本,这是需要通过正确的方法才能实现的。

  托福听力高分技巧:突破听力6大绝招

  备战托福听力,不掌握一定的听力练习技巧是不行的。大部分同学在做听力的时候听到一半就走神了,听到生词就发慌,听写练了半年还是只有20分。这些都是平常练习托福听力的时候没有get到点。现在就让出国留学网专家来教你如何突破托福听力。

  1.泛听

  泛听,也就是extensive listening。泛听不需要每个细节都得突破,但我们要求能够把握住整体的语流,做到听懂说话人的大概意思就可以了。泛听的“泛”并不指态度的懒散,而是针对整体的要求。

  2. 听写

  听写,也就是Dictation。它指的是将一篇听力录音中的原文全部听抄下来,是听力提高最有效的方法。为什么听写是听力提高最有效的方法呢?主要是因为它能将一个人听力中所有细枝末节的问题都暴露出来,比如说词汇问题、语法问题等等。这样方便我们进行纠正,做到解决掉所有问题。

  3. 概述

  概述,也就是Summary,“概述,大意”的意思,具体指的是在听到一篇听力材料后所进行的概括。这个训练对于托福听力至关重要,因为托福听力,尤其是讲座,并不需要听懂每一个细节,更重要的是教授讲课的思路和全文的重要细节。而概述正是听者无需听懂材料的每一个细节,但要求能够抓住说话人的思路和框架。很多同学听完一篇听力材料时,问他听到了什么,他只能说出一个又一个零散的单词,这是远远不够的。

  练习summary的方法很简单,就以托福听力的讲座为材料,一边听一边记笔记,录音结束,然后自己根据大脑的记忆和笔记进行全文重点内容的英文复述,然后再反复,直到练到可以将一篇讲座顺畅的复述出来为止。这样练上几十篇,对把握听力材料整体的能力就会有极大的提高。

  4. 精听

  精听,也就是Intensive listening。具体该怎么做比较好呢?首先我们应该一边听一边看着原文,手上拿着笔,划出自己不认识或似曾相识但反应不过来的词。等到录音结束,开始查生词,写在原文的旁边,把单词在这篇文章中的大概意思备注在旁边,接着将这篇材料当阅读文章快速精读一遍,彻底看懂。再一边看着原文,一边放录音,并且嘴上跟读,反复几遍,一直听到可以不看原文彻底听懂为止。

  5. 有意练习听力

  下意识的听力练习,即Subconscious listening practice。它指的是我们要自己为自己创造一个英文的环境,比如早晨一起床,我们就打开音箱播放英语,可以是托福的听力机经材料,也可以是一部英文电影,只要是英文的就行,这样做的好处是我们随时都可以听到英语,这样会在潜移默化中加强我们对英语的敏感。

  6. 挑战托福听力

  有挑战性的材料,即Challenging materials,指的是备考托福听力。平时听力练习的最高难度一定要超越考试难度,这样在考试的时候才会有居高临下的感觉,稳定地取得好成绩。然而挑战性的托福听力材料该去哪找呢?我们可以去找美国大学上课的课堂录像或录音,现在很多美国大学已经将自己大学的许多教授的课堂录像放在了互联网上,这是一个极佳的挑战托福听力材料。
