　　Task：The chart below shows the percentage of international students in Canada and USA , also compare the three top source of countries in Canada and USA.

　　The tables show information about the number of oversea students in Canada and the USA and how the number changed in two academic years.

　　In terms of Canada, most students came from China and the number experienced a dramatic increase by 14%, rising from 3210 to 3741. The rest of the students mainly came from the USA and India, both of which saw a moderate growth by 6% and 7%.

　　The situation in the USA was not the same case, with most students coming from India (10052 in 2002 and 14041 in 2003 ). And only a small number of students was from China, though the data rose by 7% from 1741 to 2312. 6421 students came from Canada in 2002, however, this figure had fallen to 5742 by 2003.

　　To sum up, compared with Canada, there were much more oversea students from these three countries and the number of students in both countries witnessed a slight increase between 2002 and 2003.

　　What can education bring us? Is “high mark” the real destiny of education? As researchers and scholars are investigating this subject， the accurate definition of education begins to have slight difference from what was in people‘s mind before. Education， the bridge between teachers and students， the mediator between individual and society， means more than knowledge transmit， but being a wholly developed person in the society.

　　First，education brings us basic knowledge and skill to survive. 　　By punishing murderers with the death penalty, society is also guilt of committing murder. Therefore, life in prison is a better punishment for murderers.

　　"Do as I say, not as I do." This is what society tells us when it punishes murderers with the death penalty. Society tells us that murder is wrong, and in our legal system, murder is against the law. Yet we still see our society kill murderers, and thus we are committing murder ourselves. For this reason, the death penalty should end, and instead murderers should be punished with life in prison.

　　Society needs to show a positive model of how our lives should be and how people should act. We should always strive to improve our situation, to be at peace and in harmony with others. However, when we kill murderers, we are not working to improve our society. Instead, we are stooping to the criminals' level.

　　We are becoming increasingly dependent on computers. They are used in businesses, hospitals, crime detection and even to fly planes.

　　We have been living in the nuclear age now for over half a century. Since the first atomic bombs were developed, nuclear technology has provided governments with the ability to totally destroy the planet. 　　Before talking about the essential role of death penalty, you have to think about the meaning, and the purpose, of any kind of punishment. If you consider that the purpose is to prevent the guilty from being nasty again, you can be seduced by an argumentation in favour of the suppression of capital punishment. But you have to think about another aspect of the problem: a punishment is also useful to impress people, to make them fear the law. In fact, let's take the example of a young misfit, which has grown in a violent atmosphere, influenced by older delinquents, etc ... He lives in the streets, he's got no aim but to survive. This is the kind of person who could possibly kill someone for money, or even for fun ... Why would he fear prison? Life would be easier for him there. In addition, in many cases, when you behave normally, you can benefit from penalty reductions. This young misfit needs to be impressed, he needs to know that the law is a frontier.
