  Describe a place you visited

Well, I have visited quite a number of countries around the world with one place being particularly impressive to me, which is the Royal Grand Palace in Bangkok,Thailand-the place where the King used to live. The buildings in the Royal Grand Palace can be generally divided into two types: temples and mansions. The temples are all decorated in an extravagant style. I was told that the outer part of the temples used to be decorated with real gold and gems . However, it turned out that these expensive material "disappeared " soon after they were installed. As a result, they have all been replaced by artificial gold and glass today. The mansions there are quite spacious as the King himself and all his wives used to live there. You know, in Thailand, a man can marry more than one wife owing to the fact that there are much more women than men in this country. So in the mansion, you will see numerous rooms with one room for a single wife. Seeing that, you can’t help envying the "wonderful wife" the King enjoys!

雅思口语 考生
本文来自雅思口语网liuxue86.com《雅思口语剖析》。

Describe an important plant in your country.

  You should say:

  What the plant is

  How you know it

  Why it is important

And explain how much you like the plant.

  Example:

Ok then, well after a bit of thought, I’ve decided to talk to you about bamboo. However, I honestly don’t know if I’m gonna be able to talk for two minutes about it, but I’ll give it a try!

So first of all, as for how I know about bamboo, well I can’t really remember exactly how I first got to know about it, you know, it could have been in a biology class at school, or when I was out somewhere with my parents, but my guess would be that I probably first knew about it at primary school, because that was about the time when we first started learning about things like that.

Anyway, moving on to why bamboo is important, well I’d say it’s pretty important for a number of reasons, the main one of which would be that it can be used to make so many different things, you know, such as chopsticks, chopping boards, flooring, what else, um……oh yeah, and musical instruments, like the bamboo f...

1:Describe a long journey you enjoyed.

  2:You should say

  3:where you went

4:when and why you went there

  5:what landscapes you saw

and explain why this was such an unforgettable trip.

One journey I went on that was very long indeed was my trip around Europe last summer, travelling by train.

I went for a whole month, going all around Europe from my home country of England east until I got to Eastern Europe, and then back in a loop to Italy. I went so I could see the rich history and culture of the continent, which was practically on my doorstep. I felt it was high time I embarked on a long trip to experience some more of the world and its people.

Travelling by train I kept myself occupied by looking out of the window at the landscapes as they flashed by. The countryside was mostly fields, but once I got to the Alps then it became beautiful. There were towering cliffs of rocks with fast-flowing rivers cutting between valley walls. I could even see a castle on one of the hillsides. Each city I visited brought a new style of architecture and type of person on the street. I saw medieval cottages, baroque cathedrals and shabby, modern apartment blocks. The landscape varied with each country I came to.

Describe a toy that that you played with inyour childhood

(Note: This sample is only to be used for reference)

Wow, Ihad to think really hard to find a toy that I really loved playing with. Amongthe toys I had, ranging from Lego bricks to rubber band-powered gliders, theone that was most sentimental to me was this “War Castle” toy.

It’s atoy set consisting of plastic bricks (made to look like castle walls), thecastle itself of course, a catapult and disks you can launch with. This toy isintended for two players, with each player setting up their “camps” 2 metersaway from each other. You can stack the brick walls anyway you like in front ofthe castle and the aim is to topple your opponent’s by launching the roundeddisks using the rubber band-powered catapult. It’s no easy thing to do as youneed a few tries to gauge how much strength you put into launching the disk. But after a while, anyone can get the hang of it in a matter of minutes.

This gameis a test of accuracy and speed, and in a way, brings out the architect in youas there are countless combinations with which you protect your castle with.

My littlebrother was the only opponent I had back in those days, and I’m proud to say Ibeat him 8 out of 10 times. Great fun! You could literally play this for hoursand it never gets boring. I don’t know what happened to it eve...

Describe a crisis in your country

(Note: This sample is only to be taken as a reference)

If I were to pick a crisis to talk about,it would no doubt be the financial crisis that’s wreaking havoc worldwide. Nota country left untouched. Mine included.

The repercussions are deep andwide-ranging. Practically every sector in the economy has felt the effects oneway or the other. Some harder than most.

China, the 3rd largest economyin the world, has had to deal with falling exports and imports, rising tide of unemploymentamong both migrant workers and fresh graduates and last but definitely not theleast, unprecedented number of business closures. It’s a vicious cycle that’snot going to end anytime soon.

What does this all mean for the commonperson like me? Let me put this in a simplistic way. If I am a graduate, I canexpect NO jobs for the foreseeable future. If I am a business owner, I hadbetter start planning who to lay off next. If I am a salaried worker, I hadbetter start worrying my job security and probably start writing my resume. It goeson and on and on…. The point is - this crisis hits everyone, if not now, thensurely later. The scary part is when?

I have absolutely no idea how to stem thiscrisis. I don’t even know how this mess even started! Although there’s acertain superpower I could point the finger at a...

Alryt, I wanna talk about the Ampere Garden by this chance. It is located at the central part of Changping District on the north bank of the ancient Canal.

It is an exquisitely beautiful garden indeed. More than 50 species of trees & shrubs are represented, This garden is at its best in late May and June, when the trees & flowers are green and in full bloom. Ooooops! The color comes from both the profusion of flowers and from colorful foliage. Autumn brings dramatic colors of changing leaves, while the winter season allows the visitor to see exquisite examples of bark, berries, and woody textures.

It’s peaceful in the morning, you can see seniors doing exercise and kids frolicking around. When the dark falls, you can see couples chatting under the trees, sitting on the grassland or walking on the bank of the lake. Actually, it is a good place for everyone.

There, all is naught but order and beauty, luxury, calm and voluptuousness. Imagine yourself to be standing there in mid-garden, this extraordinary beauty all around you. Im...

发帖:lililee

The nicotine and other poisonous chemicals in tobacco cause lots of diseases, like heart problems and some kinds of cancer. If you smoke, you hurt your lungs and heart each time you light up. It also can make it more difficult for blood to move around in the body, so smokers may feel tired and cranky. The longer you smoke, the worse the damage becomes.

The Other Cost of Smoking
Using tobacco eats up a lot of money, too. A pack of cigarettes costs $4, on average. That means, even if you buy just one pack a week, you'll spend $208 in a year. Some people smoke a pack a day, which adds up to $1,460! That's a lot of CDs, computer games, and clothes.
