卡尔顿大学对于学术成绩优秀的学生提供相当数量的奖学金和助学金来减少他们大学学习的费用，除此之外，对于经济上有困难的学生，学校还会提供各种形式的贷款来帮助学生顺利地完成他们的学业。2010-2011学年，卡尔顿大学给超过10,500名的本科新生及在校生提供的各类奖助学金价值高达1,580万加元之多。
对于国际留学生学校也提供一定的奖学金项目，但数量有限。本科生入学时，学校会根据其学术及语言的综合情况自动授予形式多样的入学奖学金，而没有获得入学奖学金的同学，如果第一年的学业成绩达到A-的水平，学校会自动授予In-Course奖学金。完成一年学业后，对于经济出现困难的同学，学校还提供价值从0到千位不等的助学金。此助学金须提前申请。
本科生：
卡尔顿大学对本科生的的奖学金项目有：Entrance Scholarships、Prestige Scholarships、Sprott Scholarship for Excellence、Arthur Kroeger College National Scholarships、In-Course Scholarships等等。
Entrance Scholarships:

上表提供的奖学金项目只要学术成绩维持在A-或以上，GPA在10.0，正常的学年可持续获取，但需提出申请，申请截止日期为三月一日。
研究生：
一般来说，对于海外留学生学校会根据学生的学术情况提供Teaching assistantship、Research assistantship及merit scholarships。Merit Scholarships一年大约在一千加元到一万二千加元不等。此类奖项面向海外学生的名额非常有限;提供给非常出色的学生，不需申请，学校会在入学通知上告知。另外学生也可申请来自校外机构或组织提供的奖项，如 Ontario Graduate Scholarships 和 Ontario Trillium Scholarships。
