　　A Lost Bag

　　丢失的皮包

　　No sooner had the bell rung than a middle-aged man, accompanied by our teacher, walked intothe classroom. All of us looked at one another. Questions were written on every face.

　　上课铃响了，老师陪着一个中年男子走进来。大家你看我，我看你，一脸的疑惑。

　　The man stepped onto the stage and said, "I lost my bag on my way to my office two days ago.As I was wondering where I could find it, I received a phonecall. It was a girl, who had picked upmy lost bag near a bus-stop and she had found my phone number in the bag.

　　中年男子走到台上说：“两天前我在上班的路上丢了皮包，我正在想该到哪儿去找，有人打电话来。是一个女孩，她在车站附近拣了一个皮包，在包里找到电话号码，所以给我打电话。

　　Then I realized I must have lost my bag when I was hurrying to catch the bus. The girl didn'tleave until I returned to the bus-stop and got back my bag. But she then left in such a hurrythat I had no time to ask her name. I have spent two days visiting the schools nearby. I wouldlike to thank her."

　　这时我才知道，我在匆忙赶公共汽车时丢了包。直到我赶到车站取回皮包她才离开。她走得太匆忙，我甚至没来得及问她的姓名。这两天我走遍了附近的学校，我要好好谢谢她。”

　　As he was speaking, our teacher walked to Guanlan Xu and asked her, "Why didn't you tell methe reason when you came to school late the day before yesterday?" At that time, Guanlan hadto look up. Before she said anything, the man cried out, "It is her. She is the very person whoreturned the bag to me!" All the eyes were fixed on Guanlan with appreciation.

　　当他说话时，老师走到许冠兰身旁，问道：“你前天迟到时为什么不告诉我原由?”这时冠兰不得不抬起头来。没等她说话，中年男子叫了起来，“是她，就是她把皮包还给我的!”所有的眼光都集中在冠兰身上，目光中充满敬佩。
