新西兰奥塔哥大学预科课程是被所有的新西兰大学认可的，主要学习语言学习技巧，同时学习一些本科阶段的专业课入门课程，目的就是为学生进入本科阶段的学习做准备。

新西兰奥塔哥大学预科入学要求：
国内高三，平均分70;高二在读，平均分80%; 雅思5.5，单项不低于5，或者IBT 70,写作不低于15
开课时间： 2月，6月，10月

此外，奥塔哥大学语言中心还开设Foundation Year Bridging Programme

目的：为进入预科课程做准备
若学生持有奥塔哥大学预科的无条件通知书，该课程为选择性的，可读可不读。不过学校建议学生最好读一下。
若拿到预科的有条件通知书，比如平均分达到要求了，但雅思只有5分;或雅思达到要求了，平均分不够;或之前没有学过预科方向的相关课程的学生都可以申请此课程
