Owning the top spot, Imperial College London specialises in science, engineering and maths. Civil engineering grads have gone on to work high-profile national and international engineering projects, which have recently included China's Three Gorges Dam, London's new Wembley Stadium and the new Antarctic research station, while the computing department has close ties to Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett-Packard and BT.
2. St. George’s, University of London

The specialist medical and health care sciences school takes second place. It has the benefit of being the only UK university to share a campus with a teaching hospital, engaging its students in a professional environment throughout their degrees. On its medicine programmes, 100 per cent of graduates are in employment within six months of course completion.
3. University of Cambridge

The CUG’s number one university sits in third place for graduate prospects. It is best known for producing revered international scientists, including Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin and Stephen Hawking. Unsurprisingly, it comes top for graduate prospects in the CUG list for maths and biosciences. It boasts 90 Nobel Prize winners.
4. University of Bath

Bath has been voted number one for student satisfaction two years in a row – according to the National Student Surveys of 2013 and 2014. This satisfaction with degrees translates into positive job prospects, with 86 per cent of Bath’s employed UK full-time first degree graduates moving into top-level jobs compared to 66 per cent of employed graduates nationally (HESA 2013).
5. University of Birmingham

This Russell Group university is known for its strong medicine and economics departments. According to the CUG 2015 rankings, Birmingham biosciences graduates come second nationally in terms of graduate employability, behind only Cambridge – although it has slipped to fifth this year.
