1.Undergraduate
本科生
If you are an international student wishing to enter Gunma University to attend regular courses, you need to take the Special Entrance Examination for Foreign Students. This Exam paper is set by Japanese language. Application information is released in September every year. You need to file an application from late January to early February, and take the examination held in late February. You also need to take the Examination for Japanese University (EJU) Admission for International Students before filing your application. This examination is held in Japanese twice a year in, or around, June and November.
If you want to enter the School of Science and Technology, you will also need to take the TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS examination.

It depends on each Master degree course when the application packages are sent out and accepted, and what kind of entrance examination is to be given. An outline is included below (as of 2016). The exam for Grad School of Medicine, and School of Science and Technology is set in English. 4.Exchange Student
交换生
Any student who belongs to any of the universities under a student-exchange agreement with GU is able to enter Gunma University as a participant in a year-long “exchange student” program. GU has a mutual credit transfer system and a mutual policy not to collect tuition fees with those universities. Exchange students can attend most of the classes, the majority of which are carried out in Japanese. It is, therefore, desirable that those students have achieved a Level 2 of Japanese Language Proficiency Test an equivalent level of proficiency. Below is a list of universities participating in the student-exchange program with GU.
