今年共46场考试18场新题，占三分之一。这一新旧趋势基本稳定。分布情况看，1-4月仅出现三次新题。5-9月12次新题，平均每月两次。10-12月只出现三次新题，剩下都是2015-2016的重复旧题。或许因为冬季人们懒散还要庆祝节日、年初还没有从节日中缓过来所以没有余力出新题。年中大家工作努力新题出现频率高。即便如此，也不必为避免新题报年初或年末的考试。因为仔细看新题还是延续旧题，没有纯粹出新。比如：

年初的新题问作为一个会有很长假期的大学生，应该去做如下哪件事？在这个长假其中第一件事students must take a course on the subject that has no direct connection to their majors of study.，是不是要选跟本专业无关的课；第二件事，students must volunteer to work in the city where the university is located or their hometowns to improve some aspects of life of the city or their own town.是不是做志愿工作。虽然这是新题但这些都是托福经常考的题。“要不要选跟自己本专业无关的课”，“是不是所有专业的学生都必须修基础科学课”，“是不是所有专业都需要学历史课”？
所以虽然题目整体是新的，但选项都是旧的。新题只是旧题的排列组合，不要害怕新题。如果准备充分新题都是似曾相识。
