2021考研英语：“一词多义”share(1)
考研翻译中的“一词多义”现象多出现在一些基础词汇上，如common、business、share等。
近15年翻译中，common一词共考查过三个释义——普通的、日常的和共同的，business考的是——行业、商业、要事。同common、business一样，share也是基础词汇，在翻译中出现是考查多层释义。
share在考研翻译中(2000-2014年)共出现过五次，在2012年集中出现3次，其他2次即：
2009- (49) Since our chief business with them is to enable them to share in a common life we cannot help considering whether or not we are forming the powers which will secure this ability.
2011-(46) Allen’s contribution was to take an assumption we all share—that because we are not robots we therefore control our thoughts—and reveal its erroneous nature.

share在此句中，考查的是最常见的释义——分享，Since our chief business with them is to enable them to share in a common life即“既然我们的主要任务是使他们在日常生活中分享”，这个译文正确，但是“分享”前增译“懂得”，即“懂得分享”，不仅不改变原意，而且符合语境，使得上下文连贯。这种方法需要广大考生加强翻译练习，培养在上下文中增词、减词等翻译技巧。
比如，在2011年46题中，整个句子的词汇和句型结构都比较简单，如何“选词”就是一个关键的问题。Allen’s contribution was to take an assumption we all share的字面意思是，“艾伦的贡献是拿出一个我们都分享的假设”，“我们都分享的假设”的言外之意是我们每个人都这么认为，那么把share单纯翻译为“分享”，汉语表达欠规范，不如转译成“我们都有过的假设”。这里实际上考查的是share“赞同(某人的观点)”的释义。
