一、巧用标点符号
例1
(2014-49) Especially significant was his view of freedom, which, for him, was associated with the rights and responsibilities of the individual: he advocated freedom of thought and of personal expression.
分句法解读：
这个句子中包含非常好用天然的分句标志，标点符号。往往是作者在写作时就对句子结构作好的划分。当我们看到逗号、冒号、破折号和分号(, : –– )这几个标点符号时可以将句子进行划分断句。本句可划分为：
Especially significant was his view of freedom, / which, for him, was associated with the rights and responsibilities of the individual: / he advocated freedom of thought and of personal expression.
需要注意，which之后又连续出现两个逗号，不需要划分，for him 作为插入语，which引导定语从句。
本句可翻译为：尤为重要的是他对自由的观点，对他来说，自由与个人的权利和责任紧密联系：他倡导思想自由和个人言论自由。
二、利用连词划分从句

在这个句子当中没有可以直接将句子结构划分开的标点符号，我们可以过划分出从句的方法把句子进行断句，包括that、which、who、whether等从属连词。本句可划分为：
